The project, financed by Emilia Romagna district and European Community aims to realize a remote control system for patients with chronic respiratory disease following a long term oxygen therapy.The remote medicine innovating system allows a constant at-home clinical monitoring of the patients who follow respiratory home care, guaranteeing monitoring reliability and a fast technical or medical intervention when necessary. The project purpose is an accurate patient watch and a constant verification of a correct therapy assumption. These goals are reached through the oxygen consumption measurement and the reading of oxygen saturation values through pulse oximetry. The whole system is composed by:
- Standard PC workstations connected through Internet are present in the hospital.
- Standard PC workstation, connected through Internet, at therapeutic gas supplier's facilities.
- Web Server, Remote control management and archiving systems at Data manager's facilities.
- "AmicOx" system for data acquisition and home monitoring, at patients'home.
